Graduated from Dartmouth College, Magnum Cum Laude in 1972 with a degree in Biology. In 1972 recipient of Kenneth Archibald Prize as scholar athlete Class of 1972.
Graduated from Dartmouth Medical School in 1975
Completed Internship and Orthopedic Residency at Albany Medical Center in Albany, New York in 1979.
Completed Orthopedic Sports Medicine Fellowship at the University of Oklahoma, Oklahoma City in 1979.
Completed Hand Surgery Fellowship in Upper Extremity Surgery Injury and Microvascular Surgery at the Mayo Clinic in 1980.
Has been in practice in Wilkes-Barre since 1981.
Dr. Byron has taken care of sports injuries at the University of Oklahoma, King’s College and Misericordia University. He also has extensive experience in treatment of injuries and diseases of the upper extremities.
He has orthopedic board certification by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons and a Certificate of Qualifications in Hand Surgery by The American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons.
He is an active member of American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons and American Orthopedic Surgery of the Hand.
Dr. Byron was elected to Sports Hall of Fame of his high school and college and has maintained an active interest in sports participation for all ages.
Dr. Byron has enjoyed immensely the opportunity to care for the injuries and aliments of thousands of patients.
Married to Board Certified Pediatrician, Joan E. Greulick, M.D. and father of a son and two daughters. Dr. Byron is most grateful for the loyalty of his patients and partners and staff. He is most proud of the achievements of his wife and children.
